ALL ABOUT US…

This is the “About” page… When you log onto our blog… this page will be the first page you see. To read our most recent ‘posts’ (that’s the fancy word for journal entries, or blog entries) click on the links at the top right hand side of the page under the row-boat picture. You will see “CLICK HERE” and then the titles of our fifteen most recent posts.

Most people who will have this blog will be friends and family and in that case …you know alllllllll about me the author of this blog ;)

For those that don’t, or for those that need a refresher… here is some pertinent info to give you insight to the story that you are following…

On this website, I’ll go by my most common nickname “Mon” … it’s what most people refer to me as.

I’m 30, outgoing, energetic, creative and love to have fun..I’m a mother to two beautiful baby girls who are only 21 months apart: ages 3 and 1! My family is number one to me and I strive to make a happy, fun and love-filled home.

I’m married to an amazing, creative and adventurous man who loves fun nearly as much as I do (ha ha ha) and we are both hotel & resort industry specialists. We were both raised by mothers who’s natural talents lent their spark to entertaining and both he and I have naturally progressed to the world of Hospitality.

During my maternity leave a few years ago from the hospitality biz I fell absolutely in love with photography (before it was just a passionate hobby) and I have since turned it into a budding career…

Thus I am a mother, wife, resort specialist, part-time graphic designer, full-time photographer, recreational writer and caring friend also I’m a daughter to two amazing parents!

Now that we have the introduction down-pat, let’s talk about  this blog, it’s called ‘Changing Coasts’.. what does that mean?

Allow me to set the stage…

January 2010 ~ a new year and a new decade… an exciting feeling of hope and change filled Matt and I as we realized opportunities on the west coast were drawing to a close yet a dream of moving east might be realized.  We have both had a fascination with the Maratimes for quite some time (as well as being fascinated with Hawaii, New Zealand, Europe and the south.. but perhaps I’ll have “Changing Continents” as the title to my next blog ha ha ha)

I digress…

We have decided to take an amazing opportunity on the East coast of Canada, in Nova Scotia… we have done much reading but have very little practical knowledge of this fabled place. We’re excited, nervous, eager and ready…

This blog will detail stories of our move (driving across the entire continent of North America from B.C to Nova Scotia) and it will include tales of getting settled and assimilated to the different culture and ways of life!

Excited to have you along the way!

xoxo

Ciao~

    Hey guys,
We love you and miss you, and hope all is well with you. Brayden said he’s still wanting to go and stay with you this summer, if all works out. He also said he’s doing great and hope you are too.

Mom asked me for your phone number, so I said I’d email you and ask for it. Also, do you just have the blog, or do you have an email address as well that we can use?

    Love you lots, S & B

      Dearest Paulette & Johnny…

We miss you so much … knowing that summer is nearing (as would be our yearly visit from you) makes me so sad to know we’ll be on opposite coasts ~ I so look forward to your visits every year and enjoy our precious and FUN times together!

Guess what ~ this area is famous for shark fishing! You guys would love it! :) (I was hoping to lure you out our way for an adventure… did it work?)

Maybe this will FINALLY be the year for us to come to Texas to see you ~ the girls are at a manageable age for travel and I’ve wanted to explore your neck of the woods since I very first met you and discovered what charming and wonderful people hale form down south ~ something magical must be in the air or water down there!

I miss you, I love you and am thankful for your note!

      Much love from us all!!!!

    Hey there!
My husband and moved from Nanaimo to Prince Edward Island two years ago! We have met (and heard about ) so many folks from the West who have made the move to the Maritimes for a simpler lifestyle.
I look forward to perusing your blog some more. Great photos!
